After some talks, I was advised to step away from my sketch book and try using a different medium on a bigger scale. I then got charcoal and tried to draw my characters with simple shapes and clean lines. I think I'm getting close with my pigeon character, but the eagle needs some work.
I really like the feet of 6, they are loose enough to let my imagination fill in the rest of the detail.
